Top Pitchers

Top Starters and Closers

Good starting pitchers can be one of the most consistent contributors to your fantasy team scoring. In our 6x6 league.. the best pitchers score just as many team points as HR hitters? Starters accumulate Wins, Ks, anchor your team ERA and WHIP.  Relievers can add winning points with Ks, Saves and Holds.. as well as influence ERA and WHIP positively with top bull pen pitching. One tip and one trade secret. Look at Net Ks and OPS. Shields highlighted as he went in the 17th round in one 2011 Draft I witnessed.

The Top 20 Closers
Pay particular attention to the OBP and OPS. This gives you some perspective on how effective these guys can be with one or two pitches for one inning per night. Another telling tidbit I look at is P_IP.. pitches per inning. The MLB pitchers with the best command and stuff get through innings in about 15 pitches. Much higher than that and he's pitching around too many hitters or lacks command of his pitches. And here's a team by team closer chart from ESPN.
